Devon Hugdahl, a Minnesota artist, made a few of the designs included in this season’s sticker pack. Devon shared, “my work is primarily focused in screen printing, though my background extends through photography and woodworking, and more recently letterpress printing. I have been creating screen printed gig posters and art on and off for about 18 years. What began as an art of necessity, creating posters promoting my own bands, has evolved into a true passion. I work with local and regional bands, venues, events and artists to promote there projects though art. I revel in both the creative flow of designing and collaborating on posters, as well as the technical skill required to bring those designs to life. I push my limits as an artist and printer with each new project, constantly striving for more. My work is bright, multicolored and multi layered. I find inspiration in my own photographs, manipulating them to the point that they can be printed via screen. I also create using found images, mostly from books and periodicals in the public domain. Often times the images I use find me, begging to be reproduced and seen again.

The work in this group is representative of many years of digging and collecting. All images were found in books and magazines dating back to the early 1900’s. The images were taken and manipulated from two separate scouting manuals, a book about wildlife rehabilitation, a Montgomery Ward magazine and another personal favorite of Hugdahl, “The Complete American & Canadian Sportsman’s Encyclopedia of Valuable Instruction” by Francis H. Buzzacott. The typeface in most of these patches and stickers were hand set from their collection of antique letterpress type.

Rachel Tri – Mixed Media Artist | Photographer | Muralist
Based in the heart of Driftless Wisconsin, Rachel Tri is a self-taught mixed media artist with a passion for capturing the essence of her surroundings through painting, drawing, and photography. Rachel’s work blends traditional and digital techniques, often inspired by the unique beauty of the Driftless region.

Recent projects include a mural installation at Prospect Place Airbnb in Durand, WI, and the design of an album cover for Twin Cities-based band Wild Lyre, combining original photography with digital editing. Rachel’s photography—often focused on rural life and natural landscapes—serves as a foundation for much of her visual art, some of which is available as prints.

Rachel is especially interested in collaborating with musicians on album artwork and continuing to create murals that bring color and character to public spaces. Currently, she is writing and illustrating a Driftless-themed children’s book that brings local stories to life through art.
